Day 2: National Peanut Butter and Jelly Day!

Day 2                                                                                    Duration: 1+ hours

Today is National Peanut Butter and Jelly Day!  One of your favorites, I might add.  This morning I mixed up a batch of peanut butter playdough while you were still waking up.  I used 1 c. of peanut butter, 1 c. of honey, and 1+ cups of powdered milk.  It turned out a bit sticky  (more like raw cookie dough, instead of playdough), but that didn't deter you!  Maybe next time, I'll try a different recipe.  When you woke up, I gathered all of the items to go along with this playdough tray and we headed outside to enjoy the brisk morning.

The tray included:
  •  cookie cutters
  • crystal marbles
  • a muffin pan
  • cookie sheet
  • condiment cup
Once we got everything set up, you dove straight in.  Staying true to your love for music, you enjoyed hearing the marbles click against the different items that you were playing with!  You also decided to bury them in the playdough, only to try and find them again.  Even though you're not always a fan of messy play, you didn't seem to mind the sticky, slimy dough as you filled up the muffin cups and cookie cutters.

Once we cleaned up the peanut butter playdough from you coat, hair, hands, and face, we make our lunch and sat outside listening to the dogs bark and the birds sing.  I made peanut butter and jelly sushi for you to try, with carrots and banana.  You ate every single bite!
