I can't believe another month has passed since we last participated in the Summer Virtual Book Club for kids. If you missed the fun we had in June with Should I Share My Ice Cream by Mo Willems, be sure to check it out! This month is all about exploring two new authors: Don and Audrey Wood. My son and I quickly headed back to the library (we're there almost every other day anyway!) to see what book to choose for July. Since we've been having so much fun with water play we decided to read the animated counting book, Ten Little Fish by Audrey Wood.
Ten Little Fish has such beautiful illustrations and takes you on a journey through the ocean. You begin, of course, with ten fish and at the turn of each page find out what happens to each of them along the way! As you keep reading, you also find out that there's a bit of a surprise at the end.
After reading this fun story about these quirky fish over and over again, we tried a few different ways to incorporate them into our activities over the next few days. Here's what we did!
