Nature Walk ~ Discussing and Sorting Items in Nature
We just love our nature walks. You are becoming quite the avid collector of all things miniature. Rocks being your favorite! Recently, we went on a wonderful stroll at one of our favorite National Parks that is only minutes from our home - Friendship Hill. Heading back there today made me think of how peaceful it was as I watched you toddle down the road looking for objects found in nature.
It all started when you sat down on the side of the road and spotted the little rocks and pebbles around a bench. You began to pick them up and hand each precious treasure to me. I asked you if you wanted to make a little pile, so that's what we did.
Oh, and then you spotted a leaf. We talked about how it came from the tree and you looked up at all of the towering trees around you. I asked you if we could start another pile for all of the leaves that you found. And so you did.
You went back and forth between searching for rocks and searching for leaves. Each time you brought one back to where we were sitting, I asked you which pile it belonged to. You did a pretty good job putting them in the correct piles.
We almost started another pile for sticks. However, you had other ideas for the branch that you found. A walking stick. You made me giggle as you walked up and down the road, looking a little like Charlie Chaplin due to the short length of your stick. Sigh. I love days like these.
