Our Memorable "Beach" Moments Outside (Days 105-112)

"At the beach, life is different. Time doesn't move hour to hour but mood to moment. We live by the currents, plan by the tides, and follow the sun." ~ Anonymous

This week was a special treat for us.  We spent seven glorious days at the beach in North Carolina with the family...relaxing, building sandcastles, and just walking in the sand.  Each day we clocked at least 2+ hours outside whether we were sight-seeing or spreading out our beach towels in front of the ocean.  The weather was beautiful and you had so much fun with everyone, which made Mama's heart smile. Here are some of the highlights of our trip.

Our first walk out to the beach from our house.

So excited to begin our vacation!

The first day you had so much fun in the water after seeing Mama and Daddy swimming.  After this day, however, you were a little hesitant because the waves were loud!

Kicking your feet and squealing with glee!

My little beach bum!

You had a blast playing in the sand and digging around with Aunt Nikki and Micah!

Enjoying the view and playing in the sand while Mama, Grandma, and Grandpap swam in the ocean. (You can see us on the top left!)

Wright Brothers National Memorial

It was a long, hot walk to the top of Kill Devil Hill, but we made it1

Cape Hatteras Light Station

Even though you weren't allowed to walk up into the lighthouse, you had fun visiting the museum and touring the grounds.

Heading out for ice cream with the whole gang!

Yummy! Oatmeal Cookie Ice Cream is the best!

Ice cream is some serious business.

Back to the beach for some more sand castle building!

Such a happy little guy on our last day!

The day before we left, our dog Lucy went to live in heaven.  We took her favorite toy to the beach and tossed it one last time so that she could catch it up in heaven and play with it.

Our final walk together.

We finally got a family picture moments before we left.

We were so blessed to have nice weather, a safe trip to and from, as well as time to spend together as a family. This will be a week that we will never forget and always cherish.

  7. Oh, his expression when you first took him in the water is priceless! Mine all did that too where they liked it initially and then went into a hesitent stage. Of course it didn't help that I plopped my oldest down to play in the water and sand. A wave larger than the others came up and tipped him over...

There is something so refreshing about time spent outdoors at the beach.
