When I heard that today was National S'mores Day, I couldn't pass up the chance to try out a recipe that I saw on Pinterest a few weeks back. The original post can be found here, but we decided to do a smaller, easier version for our snacktime today! Whenever I think of S'mores, I automatically think of camping. What better way to pretend that we're out in the wilderness, roasting marshmallows, then to pitch a tent and grab a sleeping bag?!
Since I've never actually pitched a tent before, the pop-up Toy Story tent that you play in did just fine. I asked you to grab your little sleeping bag (you also decided that Teddy needed to go with us!), while I gathered up the ingredients.
The only items that we needed were mini-marshmallows, chocolate syrup, and graham cracker crumbs. I stuck a few toothpicks into the marshmallows and we were ready to head outside!
We decided to set up camp on the patio and enjoy the sunshine. You couldn't wait to start dipping those marshmallows! Of course, you didn't want to wait until they were all finished...as soon as you got them covered with chocolate and grahams, you popped them in your mouth. We had so much fun relaxing at our "campsite" and having a little impromptu picnic, camping style!
