A Daily Practice of Gratitude ~ The Abundant Mama Project

Each and every day we have a choice.  We have a choice to make about the way we will react to whatever life throws our way.  For me, it is the choice about my reaction upon realizing that my little guy didn't make it to the bathroom while he was wearing his "big boy" pants.  I can either embrace my frustration and impatience or I can be grateful that he came to me and let me know that he was wet.  I have the choice whether or not I want to focus on the never-ending amount of paperwork that comes with buying a house or I can thank my lucky stars that our family has the means to purchase a home not far from our family and friends.

Each of us has struggles that we deal with on a daily basis; worries that creep into our minds as we're reading a bedtime story or enjoying our morning cup of tea.  The question is, will we let those worries take over our life, or will we try to shift our perspectives to focus on the abundance that we have all around us? Whatever choice we make, we can be sure that our children will be taking it all in.  Learning through us. Modeling the same choices that we have made as they grow and make their way through this world.

What if, instead of allowing those minor inconveniences -those bumps in the road- get us down, we decided to focus on the magic in our everyday lives?  Shawn, at Awesomely Awake is offering us the support and guidance to do just that! She has just recently unveiled The Abundant Mama Project that can "substantially increase happiness in your life" while focusing on the goodness that is all around you.

If you feel any of the following, then you can benefit from this practice:

*You live on a very tight budget and long for things you cannot have.
*You have very few resources or support as a parent and you need a village that cares.
*You are worried about your future and uncertainty.
*You get easily frustrated with your children and need greater balance and perspective.
*You want more magic, more zest from the life you have.

The best part about this project is that Shawn is offering to support you ~ the tired Mama, the frustrated Mama, the weary Mama ~ for an entire year (if you so choose).  To help you think deeply about "the abundance in your life right now."

 Through the writing prompts that will be emailed to you and the added support from a Mama that has been practicing this way of living for years, The Abundant Mama Project allows you to

* Deepen your parenting experience.
* Find new ways to see magic in your daily life.
* Elevate the ordinary to the extraordinary.
* Add sparkle to the mundane.
* Focus on the shimmery goodness in your life.
* Discover your peaceful center.
* Learn to love and appreciate your family more.

I am so excited to take this journey with Shawn's Awesomely Awake village.  Won't you please consider joining along to bring a bit of joy to you and those around you, one day at a time?

    1. Thank you! I'm so excited to begin this project!

  2. I keep meaning to start a gratitude journal, but haven't followed through yet.

    1. I just started one a few months back, Ticia, and only made it a habit over the past few weeks. I try to write in it before bed and it helps to end the day on a positive note...even just with a couple of short sentences!

  3. This is a great post. I especially love the first paragraph. It rings so true with how I feel every day. As a SAHM its so easy to get caught up in the frustrations of tiny things.... :)

    1. Thanks, Kat! It is easy - day in and day out. Hopefully this project will help me find the gratitude in those everyday little blessings!
